Time for action on Animal Deaths

Animals are being killed and injured in increasing numbers on the moorland roads, particularly in St Cleer parish. We have held meetings and talked about the problem for some time but now it is essential to do something. There have been 3 accidents in the first month of the year including the death of a foal. I believe it is only a matter of time before a person is injured or killed, but have always said that unless limits are enforced they become worthless. Now that the Speedwatch volunteers have said they will monitor the roads concerned I have decided that the money from my highways budget would be well spent in putting a speed limit in place on the roads in question. I aim to get this in place before next winters long nights.
