Who said August was quiet

In theory August is holiday time because the schools are on holiday and therefore the Council closes down. In fact with the number of things that have been bubbling along there has been quite a bit to do.

I hope those of you with an interest in the Neighbourhood Development Plan will have had a look at the website specially built for the process here. Please help to make it an active tool by adding your thoughts. My thanks to the members of the community who have agreed to act as a steering group for the plan process and to all those who turned out on the hottest night to a public meeting to really launch it.

I have finally heard that I have been reappointed to the World Heritage Site Partnership Board, the Board of Cornwall Housing Ltd and the “Council” of Governors of Derriford Hospital. I am pleased because all three organisations are important to me and I believe to the people of Cornwall.

Next week the Scrutiny process within CC will begin in earnest and we shall also be starting to consider the budget, which it is hoped will be decided by November although the Council Tax level will not be set until next year.
