Caradon Senior Citizens Forum

This page is historic. The Senior Citizens Forum has gradually lost members to age and infirmity but a small core remain – not as the campaigning and consultative group we were set up to be, but as a group of long established friends who meet once a month for lunch and conversation. We visit different establishments each month so enjoy a varied backdrop to our outings.

Part of the reason I became a councillor at Caradon District Council was to become Older Peoples Champion and set up a forum. Unlike the other Fora in Cornwall we are entirely self sufficient supplying our officers from amongst our members and making our own arrangements.

Event at Landulph

We meet in the Long Room of Liskeard Town Hall at just after 2pm on the fourth Wednesday each month with the exception of August and December. The just after 2pm is so that members can pay for parking at 2 and then know they will be ok for the afternoon.

Our programme is usually a talk followed by whatever business we have, free tea, coffee and biscuits are supplied. There are no charges for membership and everyone over 50 is welcome. We also arrange an outing in July each year which is free to our members and this normally includes lunch.
