World Heritage Site Partnership Board

It seemed natural as a member of the Caradon Hill Area Heritage Project which is centred on the World Heritage Site for Cornish Mining around Caradon Hill that I should put my name forward for this board. The World Heritage Site covers a very large but fragmented area of Cornwall and part of West Devon. The Heritage Site designation recognised Cornwall’s contribution to hard rock mining all over the world. We exported the technology which had enabled the deep mining of minerals and the men who did the work. There are communities across the globe who can trace their roots to the mining villages and indeed there are references to some of these men on the memorials in the General Cemetery at St Cleer.
